Pre – treatment

Pre – treatment

Both fibers and fabrics need to undergo cleaning and bleaching processes before any dyeing treatment, in order to avoid issues during dyeing.

Therefore, untreated textile fibers are recommended to undergo various treatments using specific chemical products, suitable for removing unwanted natural or synthetic impurities that may block partly the penetration and diffusion of the dye bath into the fabric substrate. In addition to the aforementioned function of these chemical products, it is emphasized that with their use, the fibers become completely hydrophilic and more whitened, characteristics essential for the smooth progress of the dyeing process.

Products

In the sector of pre – treatment process, Texchem’s range of products includes:

  • Wettting agents – Detergents

These particular agents are utilized in the bleaching process to enhance the effectiveness of the bleaching product while also providing additional functionalities, such us protecting fibers and fabrics from damage.

  • Optical Brighteners

These are chemical substances added to clothes and fabrics to give a bright appearance, enhancing the whiteness and brightness.

  • Catalysts

These substances generally accelerate chemical reactions, contributing to faster processing while maintaining the quality specifications of the product.

  • Detergents

These are chemical products used for cleaning fabrics and fibers, removing any dirt and stains.

  • Depolymerization Enzymes

Depolymerization refers to the process of removing starch from fabrics before their main treatment. Main aim is to reduce the likelihood of knots or other unwanted defects during the production of the final product.

  • Mercerizing Agents

Mercerization refers to the chemical treatment of natural fibers, such as cotton, sing a combination of sodium hydroxide and sulfur hydroxide, with the aim of improving their strength and brilliance.

  • Neutralizers H 2 O 2

These substances are used to counteract the excessive amount of H 2 O 2 , which is used in processes such as bleaching or generally in fabric treatment, allowing the safe disposal of waste.

  • Stabilizers H 2 O 2

These substances are added to H 2 O 2 to maintain its stability during storage and use, preventing its decomposition into water and oxygen.

  • Complexing Agents

The term of complexing agents refers to chemical substances used to maintain or improve the stability and effectiveness of other chemical substances involved in a process. They are typically used in chemical processing to preserve or enhance the desired properties of the final product.

  • Acid Doners

This term refers to chemical substances used to maintain the pH of an aqueous solution at a specific level, ensuring the stability of the system. Maintaining the pH at an appropriate level is crucial for many processes as it significantly affects the performance and quality of the final product. These substances contribute to maintain the desired balance between acids and bases in the aqueous solution.
